Bloomberg is a global leader in financial news & software, and creator of the Bloomberg Professional Service, commonly known as “the Terminal.” To stay competitive, Bloomberg must remain as reactive and transparent as the world’s financial markets. Its collaborative culture relies heavily on knowing where colleagues are and what they are doing.
At Bloomberg, your calendar is viewable by every other employee in the company. This transparency allows your co-workers to easy setup time with you, and allows you to quickly find a colleague for a quick conversation.

During the research phase, we conducted domain knowledge research and field research consisting of 21 contextual interviews, 8 sensory association exercises, and 5 subject matter expert discussions. Our findings informed our visions and kicked off our design phase which consisted of 2 rounds of generating and validating concepts, and then 5 rounds of prototyping, testing, and refinement. The result of this structured design process is our solution, Bloomberg Connect.
