Roberto Clemente was a beacon of excellence both on and off the field. While a star player for the Pittsburgh Pirates, he dedicated his life to humanitarianism, and ultimately gave his life for it delivering aid to Nicaraguan earthquake victims in 1972. He left behind his wife Vera and three young children.
The Clemente Museum honors Roberto Clemente's life and legacy in the city he played in, Pittsburgh, PA. It's a tour-only experience led by docents with rich stories, featuring thousands of Clemente's belongings and memorabilia.
We aim to create a digital experience that shares Roberto Clemente's legacy with both a younger and broader audience. We seek to emphasize the man behind the baseball uniform, his struggles against racism as a Puerto-Rican, and his incredible acts of service.
We're a team of five Master of Human-Computer Interaction students at Carnegie Mellon University. This seven-month capstone project is sponsored by The Clemente Museum.
