Guanyun Wang (王冠云) is a postdoctoral fellow in HCII at CMU, where his research focuses on design and fabrication. As a designer, he is interested in getting inspirations from nature to explore the emerging interaction method. As a researcher, he works on designing and fabricating smart materials that are responsive, adaptive and tunable.
His works have been published in academic conferences such as CHI, UIST, CSCW, SIGGRAPH, TEI, etc; awarded by design competitions such as Reddot Award, iF Award, A Design Award, etc. Prior to CMU, he received master and PhD in digital arts and design at Zhejiang University, and earned diploma in industrial design at Zhejiang University.
