Bio

Dr. Karumbaiah is a postdoctoral fellow at CMU HCII working with Dr. Vincent Aleven and Dr. Nikol Rummel. She studies ways to promote student engagement and learning in adaptive and artificially intelligent educational systems in a fair and equitable manner. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021. She will join the Learning Sciences faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an assistant professor in Spring 2023.
