Design Iterations
Ideation is the process of generating creative thoughts on the design directions. These ideas can then be used to kick off the iterative design process. Generating these ideas in the beginning of the design process will ultimately lead to a better e-learning system. Our team used the following ideation techniques at the beginning of our Summer Semester:
Phase 1: The Typical Training
We began with sketching and brainstorming activities, and created and tested paper prototypes.
Lessons Learned: Use questions to test comprehension, not memory, Highlight key moments and concepts in videos, Allow therapists to mark their progress
Phase 2: ANCHORS Away!
We explored island metaphors for navigating the chapters, further developed the content, and progressed to click-through prototypes.
Lessons Learned:Make a unique system, but maintain professionalism, Limit video length, and use captioning for key points, Include a means for students to take notes
Post Island Inspiration
We replaced the islands with a more professional design, finalized our key features and built the final prototype.
