OVERVIEW

With our four needs identified, we centered LiveLine around four features that help address those needs:

  • Relevancy → Livestreamed & Video Content
  • Community → Friends, Newsfeed, & Sharing
  • Clarity → Journaling & Mood-tracking
  • Immediacy → Mobile Web & SOS

Livestreamed & Video Content

NEED 1: RELEVANCY

WHY IT MATTERS

We incorporated video content (livestreamed, post-livestream, and pre-recorded videos) to provide users a way to access relevant recovery resources in an endless sea of resources. The format of video is a familiar and modern format to many young adults.

FEATURES

  • Ability to view livestreamed meetings
  • Sort & filter based on tags (that categorize videos)
  • Search for content based on tags, keywords, etc.
  • Browse or “discover” page that allows people to explore content
  • Curated content shown on the Home Page and/or Discover Pages

NEED 2: COMMUNITY

WHY IT MATTERS

It is essential to support people’s ability to create community within recovery. LiveLine aims to support this through a number of user-to-user interaction features. It is important to balance trust, anonymity, psychological safety, and level of engagement that is facilitated by the platform.

FEATURES

  • Newsfeed module that is accessible via the Home Page that supports standard social media newsfeed capabilities (including viewing posts, expanding posts, clicking user profiles via posts, etc.)
  • Comment and reply to comments (or “@” another user) on livestreams and videos
  • Report & block users (and by extension, channels)

JOURNALING & MOOD-TRACKING

NEED 3: CLARITY

WHY IT MATTERS

Understanding one’s triggers is important to being able to make progress in their recovery journey. Triggers can be a primary cause of relapses, and gaining insight can be a helpful measure in preventing situations where triggers are present.

FEATURES

  • Write, save drafts, publish, and view all journal entries & video notes
  • Optional prompts for each journal entry
  • Record mood (including preset or unique moods based on native phone emojis) and provide optional text field to detail the mood
  • Share journal posts and moods (to friends or publicly)
  • Mood trend tracker & visualized summary statistics with monthly, weekly, and daily view

WHY IT MATTERS
