Well21 is a capstone team made up of five students in Carnegie Mellon’s Master of Human-Computer Interaction cohort of 2021. Sponsored by Optum Health, our mission is to reimagine digital healthcare in the wake of COVID-19 to emphasize adaptable solutions, personal control, and frictionless integration to imagine a brighter future.

piper hayden

UX/UI designer and developer with four years of experience envisioning, crafting and developing human centric digital interfaces. Working with customers, understanding the needs of both the user and brand, and using analytical and creative thinking is her MO when engineering unique solutions.

rachel liao

UX researcher passionate about working directly with users and designing solutions and interfaces that make their life easier and merrier. She has a background in Chemistry and Computer Science in her undergraduate experience.

steve orchosky

A digital designer with over five years experience creating websites, digital ads, and brands in retail and hospitality. He’s worked through agencies, internal marketing teams, and freelance for clients spanning from startups to large organizations.

alex tsai

An aspiring designer that attended this program straight out of college. Though he has experience assisting with SEO management and digital asset creation, he’s very much green and willing to learn. He seeks to contribute his adaptability and creativity to help see this project through.

andy wilbourn

A former biomedical engineer making his way into the user experience design industry. He's had experience with medical device design and project management in the past.
