Yasu Care is a design solution created by Team YASU - a group of five graduate students in the Human Computer Interacions Department at Carnegie Mellon University. Each member comes from different backgrounds and levels of industry experience therefore resulting in a balanced team posed to take on any challenge. Through collaboration with faculty, peers, and YASU representative, Team YASU's goal was to create a solution the uplifted Young Adult Survivors United and positioned it for sustainable growth while maintaining the needs of its members. .
Diva is a user experience researcher and service designer with prior experience in business analysis, strategic planning, and engineering. She loves big-picture thinking and is curious and fearless when it comes to understanding users and their true needs. Some of her favorite things in life include: swimming in the ocean and cats!
Elizabethis a service designer and design researcher, passionate about blending strategy, mixed methods research, and human-centered principles to deliver solutions that foster agency and empower people. Prior to MHCI, she led the remote assistance operations team as a Product Operations Manager at Waymo.
Jessica is a product designer with previous experience in design and media arts. Her designs center around impact and exploring the unknown to create empathetic solutions. She loves to play video games and visit new places.
Harkiran is a user experience researcher whose interests lie at the intersection of HCI education and participatory design. Currently, she is part of the Social AI Group at CMU, where she is conducting a literature review that focuses on advocating for underrepresented voices in the HCI community. Before coming to MHCI, Harkiran spent over two years doing research with elementary school children. Some of her favorite activities are playing Wordle and watching sports.
Joshua is a Product Designer interested in intersections between media and technology. Currently, he is a part of the Augmented Design Capabilities Lab at CMU exploring tools that can help designers better use and document design rationale. Before MHCI, he worked on smart city data visualization projects for the Georgia State Department.
Stephanie is Founder and Executive Director for Young Adult Survivors United. As a survivor herself, she recognized the unique needs of cancer patients between the ages of 18-39. She is an experienced professional in Oncology and an advocate for Young Adult Cancer.
Lindsey is the Administrative Assistant primarily supporting the Grant Systems such as the Financial Assitance Program and the Rae of Hope Program. She also helps track the impact of monitoring support group attendance, social events planning, and feedback from members.
