Throughout the eight month project we used many HCI methods and design techniques to collect, analyze and record our research and designs. Throughout this section we will detail this process and show how it resulted in the final design.
Summary
Our process consisted of many different stages, often requiring us to return to different methods to refine and focus our design. Some of these stages were the Lit Review, Focus Setting, and Contextual Inquiry. However, we did not restrict ourselves to conventional methods, we found that there were times when some of our richest data was not being recorded as we had liked. For this reason we used some non-traditional methods. By using these various methods, in May of 2005, we created several interface focus areas to assist in solving the challenge. These areas became our primary areas of investigation for the summer. We returned to many of our previous techniques, but now these techniques were directed towards refining the different areas of our interface. By using these various methods we were able to iterate on our design and after several months of intense research we came to our current design solution.
