Given the broad nature of Sun's challenge, our team conducted several months of user and background research to understand the nature and needs of Knowledge Workers and to identify the relevant tasks for communication and collaboration.
Our Research Methods
- Academic Literature review of over 100 current research articles
- Expert interviews with three academic researchers
- Competitive analysis of over 25 collaboration tools currently on the market
- Reviewing an email corpus that contained over 6000 emails
- Contextual Inquiries with 12 workteams and individuals
- Creating consolidated Contextual Design models to inform our early designs
