    Quicksilver

  • This is an application to allow users to access ’Äúobjects’Äù with quick keyboard commands.
  • Most notably, it automatically indexes your address book. It can also look into your music library and such.
  • Quicksilver does not search your entire file hierarchy, but only in places where you tell it.
  • Quicksilver is a modal application. To switch into ’Äúquicksilver mode’Äù users hit Controll-Spacebar. (keys right next to each other on the keyboard)
  • The quicksilver window appears with the last selection active. It has two portions to the window: Object to be manipulated, and action to take on that object.
  • The up side is that quicksilver lets you find documents amazingly fast. The downside is that you need to remember some of the navigational key commands (arrows, tab) to navigate through the quicksilver interface.
