The Team

Thanks for stopping by! We're a team of five graduate students in Carnegie Mellon's Human-Computer Interaction Masters program. This project was completed as part of a 7-month Capstone Project and commissioned by our client Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. Gillis Bernard

Gillis is a product designer with a background in product management, qualitative and quantitative user research, and public policy. She is interested in using machine learning to personalize the user experience and foster meaningful human connections. She enjoys reading, running, and outdoors activities.

Kunal Bhuwalka

Kunal is an Android Developer with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science. He has worked on research that investigates and tries to detect leaks of private information on Android. He is also interested in using machine learning to create proactive robotic systems. In his free time, he absolutely loves playing video games.

Xiangzhu Chen

Xiangzhu is a product designer with a background in studio art and advertising. She has previous work experience as design lead and also research assistant. She is passionate about synthesizing problems and coming up with desirable solutions for better user experience. She likes watching movies and hiking in her spare time.

Joyce Lin

Joyce is a product manager with a background in software consulting and consumer electronics. She has led cross-functional teams to deliver services for clients like NOAA, Texas A&M University, and the State of Illinois. She enjoys playing board games and spending time with her cat Taro.

Melissa Shi

Melissa is a product designer with a background in industrial design. She has worked on several user-centered design projects with a focus on user research and translating stakeholder needs into products. During her free time, she loves to try new cooking recipes.
