Solution Overview

During the course of the summer, we iteratively built and tested a new vison of AIR’s website. Research from the previous phase of the project fed into and informed this design, while design critiques and usability testing from this phase validated it. We focused primarily on two of the design opportunities identified at the end of the research phase: compelling portrayals of employees and advanced search. In addition, we addressed design and usability issues encountered throughout the project.

The solution reflects the three facets of our design vision to more accurately present AIR’s impact and to help to fulfill AIR’s mission.

Expertise

Information about employee backgrounds and the improved structure of AIR’s focus areas and work highlights the organization’s expertise.

Humanity

New content about employees, the prominence of featured employees, and the increased use of images all emphasize the humanity of the organization.

Resource

More integrated and fully featured search functionality speaks to the website’s role as an information resource, as does the improved information hierarchy.
