CHI Preview: CMU Leads All Institutions in Accepted Papers

It's still two months away, but Carnegie Mellon's Human-Computer Interaction Institute is already anticipating a strong showing at the Association for Computing Machinery’s (ACM) CHI2015 conference in Seoul, Korea, April 18–23.
For more than 30 years, CHI has attracted the world’s leading human-computer interaction researchers and practitioners to share groundbreaking research and innovations related to how humans interact with digital technologies. Known as the premiere conference in the field, the weeklong event features the very best of HCI research and practice, and attracts participants from across the globe.
Of the 476 institutions participating in CHI, Carnegie Mellon boasts the highest number of papers accepted at 38, besting Microsoft Research and the University of Washington by three and six papers, respectively. Numerous HCII faculty members appear as authors on multiple papers, including Associate Professor Jeffrey Bigham and Professor Scott Hudson, with six papers each. (The highest for any individual was seven.) And while Carnegie Mellon certainly has much to boast about, Pittsburgh also has something to celebrate. Of the 265 cities represented at CHI2015, Pittsburgh can claim the most accepted publications: 42 .
