Ideation Overview

80

Starting with ideation in the spring, we generated 80 goal-based concepts in 4 full-team design workshops, which helped us tie our research to our design.

Workshop #1

Project in a day

A 3-hour design sprint that also served as our internal kickoff and initiation into the generative research and design aspects of our project. Through this workshop, we established a shared understanding of our project background and objectives, empathized with potential users, and brainstormed the high-level product vision.

Workshop #2

Conceptual design workshop

A 2-hour design workshop that was held to rapidly brainstorm and prototype our solution without boundaries. Through this workshop, we started translating research insights into design decisions. We created storyboards which were used to validate the top user needs identified. We also achieved a better understanding of how each teammate approaches design.

Workshop #3

Reverse assumptions

A 2-hour design workshop that was dedicated to revisit existing assumptions casted on the problem space, and devise solutions in a hypothetical situation where those assumptions are reversed or do not exist. Through this practice, we gained a new understanding of our past knowledge, and discovered brand new design directions to potentially be adopted in the upcoming design phase.

Workshop #4

S.C.A.M.P.E.R

A 2-hour design workshop that was held to approach our redesign process in both a radical and practical manner. Through this workshop, we analyzed the current MedRespond product, and used the SCAMPER technique to reconstruct the design. In this way, we identified the most salient goals of our design, as well as practical ways to implement the new features based on the current platform.
