Revered and reviled, admired and admonished, Apple’s products brought it back from the ashes and position it again as one of the most influential forces in product design. Former Apple UI Design Lead Chris Connors discusses how he got from here to there, presents case studies in application design for desktops, phones and tablets, and a few practical tips to remember when you’re designing your own iPad apps.
Speaker's Bio
Chris Connors (MHCI 97) became the Interaction Design Director at Daedalus in May of this year, and is responsible for interaction design strategy, planning, and execution. Before coming to Daedalus, Chris was a User Interface Design Lead at Apple, Inc., and was a Lead Designer for iWork.com, Numbers for iPad, Keynote Remote, Keynote '09, and the Apple Online Store. Before Apple, Chris was a Senior Research Associate at NASA Ames Research Laboratory, and an HCI Manager at Trilogy Software in Austin Texas. He has two design patents and two pending. He lives here in Pittsburgh with his wife Amy, his children Sam and Maggie, and dog Yoshi.
