Human-Computer Interaction Institute Seeks Applicants for Summer Research Program

Students From the Summer 2017 SRP Program
Application Deadline Is February 20, 2018

The Human-Computer Interaction Institute is looking for motivated undergraduates interested in conducting research in psychology, computer science, human-computer interfaces and language technologies for its 2018 Summer Research Program.

The HCII’s Summer Research Program allows talented undergraduates to spend 10 weeks during the summer in a research lab at Carnegie Mellon, or one of CMU's research partners. The program aims to make the HCII’s programs more visible to students not traditionally exposed to its fields and supports the lab's commitment to training a diverse set of science, technology and psychology leaders.

Applications are encouraged from students interested in learning how to conduct research in a modern academic research laboratory under the guidance of experienced scientists. The Summer Research Program experience provides excellent preparation for students interested in subsequently pursuing a graduate degree. Although students from other years may apply, this opportunity is most fitting for a student at the end of the junior year of undergraduate studies.

The program runs from May 29, 2018 to August 3, 2018, and applicants must commit to the entire summer period. Applications must be submitted by Tuesday, February 20, 2018.
