JMP installation instructions
For JMP 10.0, Mac or PC version
For a new installation of JMP 10:
1. Download your JMP software.
Download and save the zipped file for either the Windows or Mac version of the SAS Software Depot as appropriate. The download site is password protected. Contact Bob Kraut for the userid and password.
Unzip the downloaded file.
Open the software depot directory and install the software on your computer by clicking on the appropriate command for your operating system. These commands are down several directories in the JMP software directory.
- Windows: setup.exe
- Macintosh: JMP-10.dmg
For renewing JMP 10 (expires 14 FEB 2013):
1. Download & save your SAS installation data (SID) file.
The download site is password protected. Contact Bob Kraut for the userid and password.
Save your SAS installation data file. This is a .txt file, but do not o save the file from a text editor.
- Mac: JMP 10 Mac data file
- Windows: JMP 10 Windows data file
Save your SAS installation data file using the “Save As” option (Right click in Windows). Do not open the file in a browser or editor and save that or the SID file will not work.
We recommend you save your SID file to the following location:
My Documents\SAS Installation Data\
2. Start your JMP Software.
Double-click your desktop icon or navigate to the JMP 10 file and start it.
3. Apply your SID file.
If your JMP license is past your expiration date, the first screen you see at JMP launch is a message that your JMP license is expired.
- Click Open License.
- At the prompt, navigate to where you saved the SID file in Step 1.
- Click Open.
- Enter an Administrator Name and Department if you desire.
- Click OK.
If your JMP license has not expired, you must start the renewal process manually.
- From the File menu, select New > Script to open a script window.
- Enter this line: renew license();
- From the Edit menu, select Run Script.
- In the resulting Renew Your JMP License window, click Open License.
- At the prompt, navigate to where you saved the SID file in Step 1.
- Click Open.
- Enter an Administrator Name and Department if you desire.
- Click OK.
