CMU Takes First, Second and Third in Security Contest
Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) was a force to be reckoned with during the March 12, 2016 Microsoft Build the Shield (BTS) competition at Microsoft's Redmond Campus. The competition was a capture-the-flag style security contest, and three teams of CMU students placed first, second and third at the seven-hour event.
One member of the winning team was Robert Xiao, a Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) Ph.D. student.
“We’re very thrilled with this result, and we think the strong placement of all Carnegie Mellon teams reflects the commitment and passion that the university has for the field of computer security,” said Robert Xiao, a member of first place team PPP 2.
