Description

The affective circumplex is a multipurpose, mathematical formalism representing both phenomenal and psychological aspects of the mind. In conjunction with computerized experience-sampling procedures, the circumplex is a formidable methodological tool for investigating individual differences in the emotional experience. Evidence from several experience-sampling studies will be presented to support this claim. In addition, the pros and cons of experience-sampling methods, the utility of computerized procedures, and the importance of multivariate statistical analyses, will be discussed.
