Description

Daniel has managed many unique challenges in defining the strategy and vision of the User Interface group. A goal of the group is to transform the mobile user interface into a major influence on the purchase behavior of the North American end-user. However, the wireless telecommunications industry poses complex problems for designers who position themselves as advocates for the end user. To overcome these problems, Daniel has worked to establish guiding principles to ensure that his group’s design work serves to humanize the immense engineering strengths of Samsung. These principles draw from colorful sources of inspiration, ranging from medical literature about physicians’ “bedside manner” to the furniture design of Shaker communities in the U.S. Northeast.
