Description
The Celebration of Education Awards program recognizes the accomplishments of those who exemplify the university's standards of excellence in education. Through this program, we celebrate Carnegie Mellon's distinguished faculty members and educators for their outstanding contributions to the university and their devotion to and effectiveness in teaching.  Each spring, the CMU community gathers to honor award recipients during the Celebration of Education Awards Ceremony. Honoring this year's award recipients: Howie Choset, Kavčić-Moura Professor of Computer Science — as he receives the  Robert E. Doherty Award for Sustained Contributions to Excellence in Education

David Anderson, Associate Teaching Professor of Physics — as he receives the William H. and Frances S. Ryan Award for Meritorious Teaching

Maggie Braun,  Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs in the Mellon College of Science and Teaching Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences — as she receives the Award for Outstanding Contributions to Academic Advising and Mentoring

Jessica Hammer, Thomas and Lydia Moran Associate Professor of Learning Sciences and Interim Associate Director of the Human-Computer Interaction Institute — as she receives the  Barbara Lazarus Award for Graduate Student and Junior Faculty Mentoring

Judy Hallinen, Assistant Vice Provost Education Outreach, Director, Leonard Gelfand Center — as she receives the Mark Gelfand Service Award for Educational Outreach

Ken Holstein, Assistant Professor in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute —as he receives a Teaching Innovation Award

Joshua Kangas, Assistant Teaching Professor of Computational Biology —as he receives a Teaching Innovation Award Lea Albaugh, Human-Computer Interaction Institute —as she receives the Graduate Student Teaching Award

CS-JEDI Group, School of Computer Science — as they receive the Graduate Student Service Award Also to be recognized: the 2021/2022 College Teaching Awardees and Wimmer Faculty Fellows. Please REGISTER by Tuesday, 26 April 2022  (in person or virtual)
