Adjunct Faculty

Sinan Goral is a digital product designer, maker and educator. His teaching focuses on speculative design and its potential for innovative and curious outcomes.

From early stage startups to publicly traded companies, Sinan has specialized in creating data-rich experiences that empower users to take action. He is currently a Senior Product Designer at HubSpot, building data integration and reporting tools for the Data Operations team. Prior to HubSpot, he built decision-grade data products for the DoD and U.S. defense industry, highlighting supplier risk and parts availability for various weapons systems. Before that, he designed developer tooling and end-to-end version control products for engineers in the industrial automation space. And earlier in his career, he helped develop health and fitness products that made musculoskeletal metrics more approachable to athletes in recovery.

As an adjunct faculty instructor, Sinan teaches product and interaction design, speculative theory, physical computing, and design research at both the Human-Computer Interaction Institute and School of Architecture. He also advises thesis projects for undergraduate and graduate students across the University.

Sinan holds a Master of Design Studies in Technology (MDes) from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) from Carnegie Mellon University.
