ETAC: Educational Technology Across Cultures
2014
Faculty
Educational technology has the potential to transform teaching and learning across the world. However, the design of globalized technologies frequently does not account for local practices and values that may influence the outcomes of introducing a technology across cultural contexts. In this project, we are conducting field research in a variety of international cultural contexts with a personalized digital learning system. In particular, one of the outcomes will be the ETAC (Educational Technology Across Cultures) protocol, an observational protocol that describes the behaviors of students, teachers, and other support staff to help researchers and developers design better technologies for education.
