Das, Laput Advance to Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship Finals

News

HCII Ph.D. students Sauvik Das and Gierad Laput advanced to the finals of the 2014 Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship (QInF) for their proposal "Everyday Objects for Physical Space Authentication."

According to Qualcomm, the QInF focuses on recognizing, rewarding, and mentoring innovative Ph.D. students across a broad range of technical research areas based on the company’s core values of innovation, execution, and teamwork. The fellowship is open to students from a variety of top US and international schools who submit an innovation proposal that’s evaluated by Qualcomm’s CRD engineers.

As finalists, Das and Laput will present their proposals to a panel of executive judges on March 26 in Santa Clara, Calif. Winning students will be mentored by Qualcomm researchers to facilitate close collaboration and interaction with Qualcomm CRD.
